On Sunday 3 September nine of our Year 7 and 8 students travelled to Tauranga to compete in the annual Zespri AIMS Games.
This event is one of the largest junior sporting events in New Zealand and was great to see our girls perform so well.

Swimming
Maddison Spriggens, Frankie Spriggens, Katherine McEntee and Phoebe Nettle competed in swimming. They started the week with an amazing relay placing in the top ten for both the 200m free and 200m individual medley relays, coming in strong for 8th place.
With over 400 swimmers competing the girls did Woodford House and themselves proud with some outstanding personal bests.
Phoebe had 3 podium placings – 100 m Butterfly, 100 m Freestyle, 200 m Freestyle and another 4 top ten placings.
Katherine swam an amazing 200 m freestyle taking an astonishing 21 seconds off her personal best in 28th place and a 10 seconds personal best in the 100m butterfly placing 18th.
Maddison took 3 seconds off her personal best in the 100m Backstroke and 100m IM, placing 19th and 28th.
Frankie swam an incredible 100m IM with a 2 second personal best placing 30th and a 100m Backstroke personal best placing her in 24th.
Tennis
Tennis Medals:
GOLD medal Team Event – Sophie Wedd 5th place and Sophia Morris 6th place resulting in lowest Team points 11 (this prize is for the top two single place getters from the same school).
BRONZE medal Girls Doubles – Sophia Morris and Sophie Wedd.
