Sports Coordinator

Full time, Permanent

Are you passionate about sport and inspiring young women to participate and excel? Woodford House is seeking an enthusiastic Sports Coordinator to support our vibrant school sports programme. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference in a dynamic environment where tradition meets innovation.

About the Role

As Sports Coordinator, you will:

  • Administer the school’s sports programme (intra-school and inter-school).
  • Promote inclusive participation and support student leaders, coaches, and managers.
  • Organise team selections, entries, and logistics for competitions and events.
  • Manage uniforms, equipment, travel, and accommodation for tournaments.
  • Maintain accurate records, budgets, and ensure compliance with health & safety.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and external organisations.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and policy development for sport.

What We’re Looking For

  • A strong interest and understanding of sport in a school setting.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and external partners.
  • Proven ability to manage events, travel, and multiple deadlines.
  • Coaching experience or ability to support teams across sporting codes.
  • Data literacy and confidence using digital systems.
  • NZ driver licence (First Aid and H&S knowledge desirable).

Reception and Administraton Assistant

Permanent, Full time, Term Time only

About Woodford House 

Woodford House, a leading Anglican Special Character, state-integrated, boarding and day school for Year 7 – 13 girls, in Hawke’s Bay is seeking to appoint a permanent, Reception and Administration Assistant to join our passionate and enthusiastic administration team. We nurture each girl who walks through our doors so that her light shines brighter. 

 About the Role 

The Reception and Administration Assistant plays a vital role in being the first point of contact, supporting seamless communication between students, school and home, and providing a professional front office service, directing all enquiries efficiently and effectively. This role also provides key administrative support for a variety of processes and functions within Woodford House. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Reception duties, involving frequent interaction with students and visitors 
  • Absences, leave requests and data input to KAMAR (Student Management System) 
  • General administrative tasks, including ordering and deliveries and minute taking 
  • Coordinating transport and bus scheduling 
  • Health and Safety administration, including emergency management record keeping 

 

The position is for 37.5 hours per week during the school term, plus two weeks in the summer school break, reporting to the Director of People and Administration, this is an important role in the high performing, friendly and helpful administration team. 

 About You 

You will be an experienced administrator, with a passion for friendly, efficient customer service who is confident liaising with a diverse group of people and enjoys being part of an organised, professional, and people-focused team. 

You will bring: 

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills 
  • Experience handling confidential matters with professionalism and discretion 
  • Excellent communication, time management, and attention to detail 
  • Strong technical proficiency – Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, video conferencing systems, and KAMAR experience would be advantageous 
  • Ability to adapt and contribute proactively in a dynamic environment 
  • Previous experience as a Receptionist in a busy organisation would be advantageous 
  • A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the Special Character of Woodford House 
  • Previous experience in a school or education background is preferred but not essential 

 

You must be eligible to work in New Zealand and satisfactorily pass all pre-employment checks such as Police Vetting and reference checking.

Assistant Director of Boarding

Woodford House, a leading special character, state-integrated, boarding and day school for Year 7 – 13 girls, in Hawke’s Bay is seeking to appoint a permanent, Assistant Director of Boarding to join our passionate and enthusiastic team. We nurture each girl who walks through our doors so that her light shines brighter.  

 About the Role 

This newly created role of Assistant Director of Boarding will provide leadership and ensure a safe, supportive, and enriching environment for our boarding students. Working closely as part of the Boarding leadership team, you will oversee daily operations, lead a team of Boarding Supervisors, and champion student wellbeing and compliance with health and safety standards. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Manage day-to-day operations across Boarding Houses. 
  • Lead and develop the Boarding Supervisor team. 
  • Ensure high standards of pastoral care and student wellbeing. 
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety and school policies. 
  • Build strong relationships with parents and the wider school community. 

 

What We’re Looking For 

  • Experience in boarding, education, or a care environment. 
  • Strong leadership and team management skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. 
  • Commitment to student welfare and a positive boarding experience. 
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, KAMAR, Orah, Schoology).
