Art Teacher

Part-time, permanent Up to 0.6 FTTE

We are looking to appoint an Art Teacher for our junior visual arts students, and our senior photography classes. This role would suit a beginner or experienced Teacher. The position is to commence Term 1, 2025. 

About you:

  • Registration with the Teaching Council of New Zealand, or ability to obtain it,
  • A relevant teaching or other qualification,
  • The ability to teach junior visual arts, and photography to a senior level is desirable,
  • The ability to promote exceptional education in a blended learning environment,
  • A willingness to meet our future-focused learning goals,
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills, and
  • A commitment to our school’s special character.

Boarding Coordinator (2 roles)

Full Time, Permanent, Term time

About the opportunity

These newly created roles will be part of the Boarding Team, providing essential support to the Director of Boarding in the delivery of a range of administrative, organisational and communication responsibilities, whilst cultivating a home away from home for Woodford House Boarding students.

These roles will be job sharing, designed to cover the span of hours of the boarding students when they are not at school, both in the afternoon and morning, and sleeping in the Boarding House overnight providing support and guidance to the Boarding Supervisors. Rostered hours during the week and every second Saturday shift. 

About you

  • Previous experience in a school or caregiving environment
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated, have excellent communication skills and be an empathic, non-judgemental listener
  • Committed to providing a positive boarding experience for all students
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to use initiative and forward planning in meeting deadlines
  • Computer literate – competency with Microsoft and Orah preferable
  • Ability to work and perform well in a sometimes demanding and stressful environment by following set procedures and adhering to school policies and guidelines
  • Be presentable and have good judgement.
  • Be able to maintain confidentiality in all matters related to school and students.
  • Be able to work in a team and on your own

You must be eligible to work in New Zealand and satisfactorily pass all pre-employment checks such as Police Vetting and reference checking.

English Teacher

Boarding Supervisor

Full-time, Permanent, Term Time

About the opportunity

The role of Boarding Supervisor is required in term time only, and hours are on a shift roster, (approx. 50 hrs per week, including sleeping). The role involves day time caregiving of the Boarding students when they are not at school, both in the afternoon and morning, and sleeping in the Boarding House overnight.  

In this role, you can expect diverse responsibilities including:

  • Day to day running of the House.
  • Be available to girls at all times, taking care of their wellbeing.
  • Foster a safe physical and emotional environment for the girls.
  • Create trust, respect and caring attitudes to enable independence.
  • Liaise with parents, staff and girls.
  • Maintain accurate records, using computer software.

About you

  • You will have excellent communication skills and be an empathic, non-judgemental listener.
  • Have a good understanding and tolerance of teenagers.
  • Be presentable and have good judgement.
  • Be able to maintain confidentiality in all matters related to school and students.
  • Be able to work in a team and on your own; and
  • Have good organisational skills and computer skills.
  • Experience in Boarding or a similar role is desirable

Weekend Boarding House Supervisor

Part-time, Permanent, Term Time

The role of Weekend Boarding Supervisor is required in term time only, and hours are on a day time shift roster. The role involves day time caregiving of the Boarding students when they are not at school during the weekends, and support activities on and offsite for the students.

In this role, you can expect diverse responsibilities including:

  • Day to day running of the House.
  • Be available to girls at all times, taking care of their wellbeing.
  • Foster a safe physical and emotional environment for the girls.
  • Create trust, respect and caring attitudes to enable independence.
  • Liaise with parents, staff and girls.
  • Maintain accurate records, using computer software.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures regarding safety.
